Blog Assignment #2 - Image 9: Emotional Fuel (p. 57)
Is Your Emotional Fuel All Around You?
When inspiring a shared vision, you must remember those who inspired you. They encouraged you, held you accountable, and created a shared, common purpose. They gave you some "emotional fuel."
Take the time to think about those who have emotionally fueled you. Who were they? Why was their influence so significant? In the text Habitudes, you will take a look at Image 9, complete the "ME" diagram under "Your Network," and answer the following "Reflect & Respond" questions by Thursday, February 11th at 11:59pm:
1.) In two paragraphs (4-6 sentences in each paragraph), discuss a time when someone or a group of individuals fueled you emotionally. Was it one person or a group of people? When did this take place? What did they say or do to fuel you? Did they create a shared vision with you? Utilize your "ME" diagram and your class notes to guide your response.
2.) Why do you think we need accountability and support in our lives as leaders?
3.) A frequently quoted proverb says, As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. List ways one person can sharpen another person in a relationship.
4.) How does using symbolic language/images and being unique provide emotional fuel to others?
5.) What are the weak spots where you need the counsel of others in your life? Are there areas where you feel you have an empty tank?
Once you have answer the following prompt, please submit it on your blog profile. By Sunday, January 31 at 11:59pm, you will need to respond to Two (2) of your classmates in one or more the following ways:
- Discussing at least two things you liked about their reading response.
- Asking a thoughtful question about two or more of your classmate's answers.
- Discussing the connection between the text (Habitudes or The Student Leadership Challenge) and your classmate's post.
- Addressing whether or not the reading response makes you want to review the text (Habitudes or The Student Leadership Challenge).
- Suggesting a constructive improvement for the reading response.
